Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally Join ‘The Umbrella Academy’

Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman have officially joined the cast for the final season of The Umbrella Academy. The two, who are married in real life, will portray Drs. Gene & Jean Thibedeau – married community college professors who will suffer the most extreme case of deja vu. David Cross also joins the cast.

The Umbrella Academy Grows

David Cross will portray Sy Grossman, a desperate man who wants to reconnect with his estranged daughter. This character will also be an upstanding, shy business owner, but his quality of being a family man is what makes him stop at nothing to get his daughter back. The Umbrella Academy is a series based on the comic book collaboration between My Chemical Romance musician Gerard Way and artist Gabriel Bá. The series shows a family of former child superheroes who decide to reunite as adults and fight evil forces once again.

Previously, it was announced that this upcoming fourth season would be the show’s last. When announcing the final season, creator Steve Blackman said he was very excited that the loyal fans of The Umbrella Academy would get to experience a fitting end to the journey of the Hargreeves siblings that started five years ago. He also added that before audiences get to the conclusion, they’ll witness an amazing story during season four, calling it a story that will have fans at the edge of their seats until the end.

The Plot Will Thicken

Season three of The Umbrella Academy ended on a cliffhanger, showing the Hargreeves family discovering that when they restored their world to its form, all of them lost their powers. Blackman previously said that he wanted viewers to wonder if this new situation is a gift or curse given to the Hargreeves by their adoptive father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, portrayed by Colm Feore.

The production of the final season of The Umbrella Academy is still underway in Toronto. So far, it was announced that stars Elliot Page, David Castañeda, Tom Hopper, Robert Sheehan, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aidan Gallagher, Ritu Arya, Justin H. Min, and Feore would reprise their roles.
